In this high-tech world there is no need for interruptions during your favorite program to find that a storm is brewing. Most have smart phones. Those who are tech savvy enough have all the important apps, including a weather app. We can get on our phone and watch as a storm is heading right for. We can almost track the exact moment that it will hit.

When the tornado went through most of my hometown county like a train derailing and tearing up everything in it's path, people knew right where it was and when it would make them the target of its wrath. It's an unnerving feeling when something destructive is heading your way. And whether you know the precise moment or you are just waiting, anticipating the blow the same unease is present. So much destruction in a matter of a few minutes.

We face storms, someone does every day, somewhere...

No matter what kind of storm that hits us, the results are much the same.

A. There is loss.

B. There is pain.

C. There is necessary rebuilding.

So, when you are facing a storm it is so important to remember that God has not forgotten you and He is in the boat with you. We may not be able to see it coming, it may take us completely off guard. But, God sees the big picture and He is there before the storm hits.

In Psalm 102 David is broken and asks God not to hide His face from him in the day of trouble. He moans of despair and eating ashes in grief. But even in his trouble David praised God.

"My days are like a shadow that lengthens, And I wither away like grass. But You, O Lord , shall endure forever, And the remembrance of Your name to all generations." Psalms 102:11-12

He goes on to cry out in despair and praise God as he is lamenting. We too can cry out to God during our trials, we must be careful to thank Him, praise Him and worship Him even as we cry. Because He is good, His mercies are new every morning and we arise only because He has sustained us.

Praise His Name!!
