Sitting on the front porch this morning I watched robins as they pecked at the ground looking for seeds to nourish their bodies. A male robin stayed on the ground foraging while the female flew around the tree guarding either the eggs or her young. Suddenly the male took flight, circled around and flew off in a different direction. Bearing the brighter colors the male draws predators away from the nest. The female seems more drab and perhaps somewhat homely so as not to draw attention to herself, therefore not drawing attention to her young.

Our job in the Kingdom is not to draw attention to ourselves, but to maintain a pose of simple beauty within, in order to show only Christ. In crisis we are to guard the nest, keep the importance of guiding the young disciples to be ready to fly when the time comes. We must feed them so they are strong in the Word and ready to fight the battles they will face against the enemy who is out to steal, kill and destroy them.

How are we to do this? Teach them to:

 1. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.  James 4:7-8

2. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. James 4:10

3. ...take unto you the whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  Ephesians 6:13

We must: Submit

And show others.

Remember the cause and the honor you have been given to fight for it.
